June-July...Our last snow was on June 10th. MERCY. Finally the red stuff in the
thermometer is cracking 75 degrees. We are out and about and loving God's
creation. A few new inspirations are percolating...we shall see.
Anyway, one thing led to another, and I'm building a 3GHz audio work station. This
should slay the latency beast in multi-track recordings. The big word is cache: 16
MB on the hard drives, 6 MB on the processor. We're going with a super quiet
case and case fans, and an aftermarket cooler to keep the one's and zero's
moving. We're going to pair this with a Digidesign 003 rack firewire interface and
power it all with filtered AC. The second Universal Audio DSP card will give me
plenty of headroom for sublime processing plug-ins. Looking forward to making
the creative process flow! Here's the design I used.
